The Harrowphone
An instrument and interactive installation built from worn-out farm harrow discs — each one wears to a different pitch. As you play, the sound is captured, processed and grows around the room: “reaping what we sow”. Shown at Irish Design Week 2023.

Hi, I’m Edu.
I grew up in Curitiba, Brazil, experimenting on the family piano, then working my way through violin, drums, bass, guitar and voice. I did a degree in music production and composition and, because curiosity doesn’t pick sides, a first-class degree in industrial mechatronics too. I’ve written C++ for embedded systems and music for 110-piece orchestras. Honestly, they scratch the same itch: how do you build something that moves people?
In 2017 I moved to Dublin for a Master’s in Scoring for Film & Visual Media (first-class honours), and stayed. Since then I’ve recorded and mixed opera for Irish National Opera, led audio and then strategy at an immersive-tech studio, run sound for Ireland’s pavilion at Expo Osaka, and built a sample-library label that became a Native Instruments partner.
What ties it together: I care about who I work with and what the work is for. Projects that inspire people, that matter, and ideally that are a bit of fun. I bring good ears, a calm head and the occasional terrible pun to every session.
